Full-Day in Sicily: Noto–Villa Romana del Tellaro–Marzamemi
From £40 per personBook now
- The Baroque style of Noto
- Visit the beautiful Villa Romana del Tellaro, home to stunning mosaics
- Discover the wonderful little town of Marzamemi, a traditional Sicilian fishing village
Noto's magnificent Baroque architecture is unique in Sicily, despite an unmistakable air of its age and disrepair. However, substantial restoration work started after the town was named a UNESCO World Heritage site. Soon, Noto's Boroque buildings will once again stand in all their glory.
From Noto we will continue to the “Villa del Tellaro” to visit its beautiful mosaics. This royal country residence of the late Roman Empire boasts mosaics similar to those of the famous Piazza Armerina, including mosaic medallions with laurel crowns, a painting inspired by the Iliad, hunting scenes, and much more.
We will then transfer to Marzamemi, where you will have some free time for a swim or to go shopping for typical local products. Marzamemi is a traditional Sicilian fishing village. The village has developed into a fishing port over time, and continues to be one of the most important in Sicily.
Discover a unique piece of Sicily's culture and flavour on a trip to three of its most charming places!
