Travel through time on a visit to the Greek theater of Syracuse and discover why this structure carved directly out of the rocky hillside has earned UNESCO World Heritage Site Status. Explore the surrounding monuments and archaeological area, while learning the history of the site from an experienced, local guide.  Next, visit the island of Ortigia, the historic heart of one of the greatest cities in the ancient world and one of the most visited places in Sicily. Stroll through charming squares, learn the history behind archaeological monuments, and admire the Ortigia Duomo (cathedral). There will even be an opportunity to visit some local food markets to check out some typical Sicilian products and produce.  This 3-hour tour will include transfers in an air-conditioned car, although some walking will be involved.
