What People Are Saying About Syracuse
We were surprised at first to be the only two English passengers on a bus full of Italian tourists but it was a lot of fun. We met people from all over Italy, they were very patient and kind with us. Our guide Riccardo worked very hard in both languages...wow. We saw everything we wanted to see in Sicily and the nice part is that we did not have to drive, we could relax and learn about the area through our guide's narratives. We really enjoyed it. The food was great for the most part except for the last day, the lunch was not very good so we found our own restaurant for dinner. I noticed that there were red wine drinkers who were not interested in the white wines, so maybe they should identify themselves at the beginning of the tour so the guide is aware of it. Our accommodations were all fine except for the first hotel in Palermo, it was quite noisy. I think it's an interesting way to organize a tour and would do it again. Thank you again for everything. Great job.
On this tour we were 75 persons. The guide had a great responsabilbity to pilot us all, and she did it very proffessionally. She also changed from English to German to Italian and back to English again instantanously. I just say, BRAVO! We had a local guide at the Greek theater, who were very learned and skilled. I appreciated too, the visit in the charming harbour of Siracusa and the visit to the island of Ortigia.
The tour itself is comfortable and well-prepared but Siracusa itself is not an interesting place to visit neither from the land nor from the sea.
