What People Are Saying About Suleymaniye Mosque
The hidden tour was one of the best days we spent in Istanbul. My friend and I were the only two in the group and Fatih - our guide - was very flexible in accommodating our requests. He is very passionate about his job, and proud of Turkeys historical achievements. Fatih met us at the pick-up point on time, and informed us of the schedule. My friend and I were very impressed by Fatih's level of knowledge. We enjoyed listening to the details and wanted to hear more. Fatih's communication skills and English proficiency was unexpectedly perfect. I would highly recommend you ask for Fatih to be your guide for the tour when booking online through GetYourGuide. Wishing you all the best and an unforgettable hidden tour memorable experience.
We were lucky enough to have Emre Aldeniz as our guide who kept us fully briefed on the "hidden" joys of old Istanbul, he had an in depth knowledge which he shaed with the 4 of us, so a very intimate 5 hoiurs were spent - slowed down by the snowy conditions. Emre was excellent.
It was an excellent tour. We walked through most important sights of Istanbul's old town, the guide told lots of stories and interesting facts about the places. This tour is useful to do before actually visiting the sights, because it prepares you for what you are going to see and experience.
Tolga our tour guide explained the history of each of the sites. He showed us a hidden courtyard cafe near Topkapi to which I retired several times for lunch or coffee. Suleymaniye Mosque was beautiful - my favourite mosque ever. Tolga's explanation of Sinan's architecture made the complex come to life. I would recommend this tour to others with enthusiasm! Many thanks Tolga and Get Your Guide.
Our guide Suleyman was knowledgeable and gave us a great tour. He showed typically Turkish hospitality with a couple of tea stops which were welcome as the day was very cold. Would recommend on anyone's first day to quickly orientate you and get an overview of the city's history.
