You will travel to Cairo from Sokhna Port to spend an unforgettable time in this world-famous city. You'll visit Cairo's most famous sites including the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx of Giza, and the Egyptian Museum.
What to Expect
A guide of our company will pick you up from your cruise at Sokhna Port and accompany you on your trip to Cairo.
First of all you will visit Giza. Your guide will tell you to the history of the Pyramids which served as the tombs of the ancient Pharaohs Cheops, Chephren, Mykerinus. You will have time to enter one of the Pyramids (additional cost). Also you will find yourself standing at the feet of the enigmatic Sphinx. It is the largest monolith statue in the world. The Great Sphinx is a national symbol of Egypt. It has the body of a lion and the face of a man, probably an ancient king. The age of the Sphinx is not known, with guesses varying between six-thousand and even thirteen-thousand years old. Also in Giza you may visit the Solar Boat Museum (optional), home to the remarkably well preserved boat of the pharaoh Cheops in which he wanted to sail through the underworld. After this visit you will have lunch in a local restaurant.
Cairo's famous Egyptian Museum, your next stop, houses more than 250,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, and the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamen are its highlight, a unique collection of treasures, gold and jewelry which was enclosed in his tomb for over 3.500 years before its discovery in the 1920s when his tomb was excavated. His six gilded coffins dominate the main hall, while his magnificent death mask is the star attraction.
Finally we will take you to the Salah El Din Citadel, a great fortress which had originally been founded by the legendary Sultan Salah El Din (known in Europe as Saladin).
In the evening you will be back at your cruise ship at Sokhna Port. The departure time from Cairo depends on the departure time of your ship at Sokhna Port.
