Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Quito – Lago Agrio – El Puente

Following a flight or a bus journey from Quito one day prior to the tour or an overnight stay in Lago Agrio, the tour will congregate at the Hotel D`Mario at 08:30. After picking up those guests arriving by plane, you will journey by private bus to El Puente, which marks the entrance to the Cuyabeno Reserve. From El Puente, enjoy a leisurely canoe trip down the Cuyabeno River to your lodge for the night. Have fun with some exciting nocturnal adventures, sit down to a nice dinner at the lodge, and enjoy a discussion of the diversity of animals in the surrounding jungle.

Day 2: Laguna Grade

After breakfast, trek into the primary rainforest to learn about medicinal plants and the biological flora and fauna. After lunch, relax by the river or enjoy a siesta in one of the hammocks, and spend the afternoon taking part in a range of fascinating activities including Piranha fishing, swimming in the lagoon, and Caiman spotting. Conclude the evening with a fabulous sunset and a delicious meal.

Day 3: Cuyabeno River

Start the day with a hike to a different part of the forest to see some of the biggest trees in the entire Amazon, and visit an indigenous community, where your naturalist guide will explain the culture and traditions of the native people. Meet with a local Shaman, and then learn how to prepare the traditional food of the community before you sit down to enjoy a delicious lunch. Conclude the day watching the sun set over the nearby lagoon before dinner together.

Day 4: El Puente – Lago Agrio – Quito
Start the day observing the birds and animals of the rainforest in the tranquility of the early morning Watch the sun rise over the jungle canopies and, after breakfast, journey up the Cuyabeno River to El Puente, catching your last glimpse at the fascinating jungle landscape.
