What to Expect
Beginning at Nevsky Prospect, the main street of St. Petersburg, your tour will pass the Russian National Library, the Gostyni Dvor department store, the Ostrovsky Garden, and the monument to Catherine the Great. The guide will also show you the beautifully decorated Yeleseev traditional grocery store.
After this, you will head to Arts Square to see the Russian State Museum and Mihailovsky Theatre. The tour then takes in the famous Church on the Spilled Blood, a memorial to Tsar Alexander II and home to one of the world’s major mosaic sites. Following this, Kazan Cathedral is another highlight.
The tour then proceeds to Palace Square, the city’s main square, where you will see the Winter Palace and Alexander's Column. The guide will explain the history of Russian royalty, and the country in general. Finally, you will ride the subway from Admiralty to Vladimirskaya, where you will find the Kuznechny food market and St. Vladimir’s Cathedral.
