What to Expect
Day 1:
Your private guide will meet you at the sea port with a sign and your name on it. After a brief introduction to the history of St. Petersburg, your vehicle will bring you to the city center, the Spit of Vasilievsky Island, where you will enjoy the magnificent view of the Neva River and the Rostral Columns. This stop will give you a chance to take pictures of the Winter Palace and other buildings of the Hermitage Museum, as well as the St. Peter and Paul Fortress situated right across the river. Afterwards, continue on a drive along the embankments of the Neva River and along the Nevsky Prospect. 

The tour continues at a cozy restaurant, where you will have a Russian cosine lunch. Visit the Faberge museum. The museum contains the world's largest collection of works by Carl Fabergé, including nine of the famous Imperial Easter Eggs, regarded not only as the finest jeweled works of art, but also as unique historical artifacts. The museum's collection also includes decorative and applied works made by the Russian masters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The museum is located in the Shuvalov Palace on the Fontanka River - one of the most beautiful palaces in St. Petersburg.

Make some special time for  some informal things in the city: See the shopping mall, shop for souvenirs, or just take a walk in the Letny sad (summer garden). Your guide will stay with you and advise you on the best places to visit.

Day 2:

Day two will start with the introduction of the State Hermitage museum. Visit one of the world's greatest museums founded in 1764. The Hermitage Museum is the largest art museum in all of Russia and ranks among the most prestigious museums in the world. It was founded by Catherine the Great in 1764 as a private court museum and evolved into the most remarkable collection of art in the world with a total collection of more that 2.7 million works. The tour covers the masterpieces of Western European art. You will also see the Impressionists collection, moved to the General Staff building last winter. The museum boasts collection Western European art from the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian and others. There are Dutch and Flemish Art collections, including Rembrandt, Rubens and Van Dyck and the superb French Impressionists. You will see a collection of Spanish art, second only to Madrid's Prado and a collection of French art, the largest outside of France, displaying works by Degas, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Gaugin and Matisse.

Have lunch at the restaurant, followed by going to the Basil island to explore the modern arts useum Erarta, the largest private museum of modern Russian Art in Russia. Its collections number about 2000 items – mostly paintings, but also graphics, sculptures, installations, and other types of modern art from 140 artists. The main aim of the Erarta gallery is to popularize modern Russian art both among experts and general audiences all over the world.
