Katya met me on time at the pre-arranged meeting spot and took me for a 1 hour tour of the Impressionist paintings in the General Staff building before heading over to the main museums for 3 more hours that concluded with the Golden Peacock clock "event". The evening tour in the off season (late Oct) meant that the museums were very quiet and the only crowds were at 8pm for the Golden Peacock "event". I enjoyed seeing so many wonderful works of art by Rembrandt, Edgar Degas, Van Gogh, Diego Velasquez, Kandinsky, and Matisse and Katya told me stories about the paintings, the artists, and the imperial art collectors that I will remember forever. If you enjoy art history then you will love this tour.

It was at the top! Our guide was perfect, very attentive to listening to our expectations. Obviously the place is magic but it is all the more important to have a qualified guide to have a general overview of the wonders of this palace.
