A refreshing day in the middle of the summer might be a perfect recipe to explore the other side of Croatia besides the islands, sea or pebble beaches. A visit to one of eight of Croatia’s national parks guarantees some unforgettable experiences.
What to Expect

Our tour of the national park starts in Skradinski Buk where you'll immediately be presented with all the beauty of Krka National Park. Skradinski Buk is the largest travertine cascade system in Europe. The walk through the park is truly serene with a myriad of waterfalls glazing in front of your eyes, while you walk though a network of wooden bridges and boardwalks, with the sweet scent of pine filling your nostrils.
The walk continues with educational trails through nature, and an authentic ethno presentation revealing how river water kept the life thriving in this area throughout centuries. Old stone houses and watermills have been turned into souvenir shops, exhibition spaces and restaurants where you can have lunch and enjoy the authentic food.
Following the wooden path from the ethno village, you'll continue the tour of the Krka National Park by visiting Roski slap, a remarkable waterfall situated in the more remote part of Krka canyon.

Roski Slap with its series of cascades and falls called 'The Necklace', form the most wonderful sight while you enjoy taking a refreshing swim below them. You can walk the trail all along The Necklace and enjoy the way Krka dances and navigates around countless travertine barriers and lakes. The Roski slap carves trough the canyon, and at its foot forms a lake called Visovac, with a 14th century monastery rising proudly from the middle.

As it's a National Park, swimming in Krka river is permitted but only in designated areas. The guide will point out when you'll be able to refresh in the crystal clear Krka River and experience this exhilarating sensation.

At the end of the Krka tour, you will enjoy the panoramic ride of the Krka canyon, presenting all the beauty of the surrounding area. The most spectacular view is the island of Visovac, with its church and monastery being the sole structures on the island. Be prepared to take photos, as these are the images you'll wish to bring back home and share with your family and friends.

After the whole day spent in nature, you'll view the glorious St. Jacob Cathedral in Sibenik - the oldest Croatian town on the Adriatic Coast - with numerous impressive monuments.

The construction of the Cathedral started in 1431, and lasted over one hundred years, bringing together an unusual blend of two historic styles transitioning from Gothic to Renaissance. It was entirely built from lime stone and marble, which was bold and unusual for that time.

For its unique value in architecture, the Cathedral of St. Jacob was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage sight.
