What to Expect
See the ancient city of Petra, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, on a full-day trip from Eilat across the border into Jordan.
After crossing the border, travel to the heart of the desert to see this city located in the mountains. Pass between the precipitous cliffs through the awesome Siq, a huge crack in the sandstone that runs 0.7 miles (1.2 kilometers). As you enter into the city, you will be greeted by the Treasury, a famous building in town. Continue touring the area, visiting other buildings, facades, baths, mourning halls, crypts, and temples, as well as the Roman theater. You will also go on a short horseback ride if you so choose.
