Las Vegas: Antelope, Monument Valley, & Horseshoe 3-Day Tour

Las Vegas: Antelope, Monument Valley, & Horseshoe 3-Day Tour

Get back to nature and encounter the dramatic rock formations of Arizona on a three-day trip into Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, and the Valley of Fire. Take a jeep tour of the Navajo Nation with a native guide, and get spectacular views from Horseshoe Bend. Avail of the chance to shop at the boutique stores and arts and craft shops of Sedona and more. Day 1: Las Vegas – Sedona Start the day by traveling across the Mojave Desert and head up the Colorado Plateau. Journey along historic Route 66 as you make your way to Sedona. Then, take in the spectacular landscape of Oak Creek Canyon as it descends 2,000 feet (610 meters) to the valley floor. Stop to take photos of the red rocks and surroundings at the Oak Creek Canyon Overlook and Slide Rock State Park. Break for lunch in Sedona and browse the authentic Native American arts and crafts stores. Then, head into the surrounding desert to visit the Chapel of the Holy Cross and get panoramic views of Sedona's red rock formations, including Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte and Cathedral Rock. Depart Sedona in the late afternoon and drive to Page for your overnight stay at Clarion Inn. Day 2: Monument Valley – Horseshoe Bend Head into Monument Valley to discover one of the Iconic symbols of the American West. Venture deep into the heart of the autonomous Navajo Nation, where the sandstone rocks tower from 400 to 1,000 feet (up to 300 meters) tall. Marvel at the near-vertical mesa buttes and see indigenous shrubs and trees. Take a jeep tour led by a member of the Navajo tribe, and go down into the valley to experience firsthand why they call this land “like no other place on earth.” Then, head to the mighty Colorado River. Visit Horseshoe Bend for a spectacular view, unique to the region. Continue to Lake Powell for your overnight stay at the Clarion Inn in Page. Day 3: Friday Antelope Canyon – Valley of Fire – Las Vegas Start the day where “the water runs through the rocks” as per the local Navajo folklore. Tour the Antelope Canyon and visit the spectacular dunes created by the wind, water, and sand; there are no words to aptly describe these formations created by Mother Nature. After the tour, depart this amazing area and start making your way back to Las Vegas, along the way stopping for a lunch break and then visiting the “Valley of Fire,” named for the magnificent red sandstone formations created from shifting sands and dunes during the age of the dinosaurs more than 150 million years ago. The visit is timed to be able to see the appearance of the valley being on “fire” when reflecting the powerful sun’s rays into the valley (weather permitting). Depart the Park for an early evening arrival in Las Vegas.

Flagstaff & Sedona: LOWER Antelope Canyon Day Trip

Flagstaff & Sedona: LOWER Antelope Canyon Day Trip

Leaving Sedona, your journey will begin by enjoying Oak Creek Canyon, one of the prettiest roads in the US. Towering Red Rocks will be surrounding you on this 12-mile drive. You will pass Slide Rock State Park, the movie set for the 1950 western “Broken Arrow”, with Jimmy Stuart and Jeff Chandler. After reaching the top of the Colorado Plateau you will be driving through the second largest Ponderosa Pine Forest in the World, second only to the one in Russia, Siberia. Heading north on Hwy 89 we will go through the Painted Desert, which was named on an expedition led by Francisco Vázquez de Coronado on his 1540 quest to find the seven cities of Cibola which were supposedly made out of pure gold. Traveling through this colorful desert you will also see the Vermillion Cliffs, which are like the Painted Desert part of the Navajo Nation (Dine’tah). You will learn about the history, folklore, and ways of life of these people since it is one of the biggest Tribal Nations in the United States. After arriving in Page, Arizona you will have the opportunity to do a 1.5-mile hike to the “Horseshoe Bend” overlook, to take pictures of the Colorado River below you. This is one of the most photographed views in the world. With a little luck, you might see some river rafts going down the Colorado.  View the stunning images of the Navajo Nation, Glen Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Lower Antelope Canyon on this full-day trip. Highlights include visiting two of the most stunning Southwest vistas, both Horseshoe Bend and Lower Antelope Canyon. You will walk out to Horseshoe Bend, which sits above the winding Colorado River, to get amazing photos and see why this vista got its name. In the afternoon, you will be astounded by the views in Lower Antelope Canyon, which change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. You will experience the beautiful color palette on the sandstone walls at the best time of day. This slot canyon provides an amazing palette for changing light patterns throughout the day. Guest must be able to navigate steep stairs and narrow passageways. This tour requires a minimum of four passengers to operate. No Children under 6 years old; No dogs or service dogs permitted. Please advise if anyone in your party is taller than 6 feet (183 cm) or more than 250 pounds (113 kg).

The tour was very well organized. There were two guides in total: one who spoke Italian and English and one who spoke French. The first day is definitely the longest, there is a lot of road but the explanations of the places we pass make the kilometers more dynamic. A favorite for the pretty quiet town of Sedona which is very pleasant and picturesque in the middle of the mountains. I would have liked to have had an hour more! The Super 8 hotel in Page is very comfortable and has everything you need (coffee machine, microwave, etc.). The excursion to Monument Valley with the Navajos is magical, a slap in the face of beauty. Slight disappointment for Horseshoe Bend which in my eyes is dangerous but it is not the fault of the tour, I am delighted to have done it. Antelope Canyon was the real revelation of the trip, absolutely breathtaking! The way back was very well done. A very good tour and big up to Gertrude, very endearing.

i enjoyed the guides. janet and martine were wonderful. all of tge sightseeing was great. it was also nice to stay in the same hotel for 2 nights while traveling each day. i would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in seeing Arizona. it packs a lot in in the 3 days.the tour was really great.

Amazing tour. We were undecided whether to rent a car or do this tour. Luckily we opted for this choice. The tour guide Elvira explained to us so many details that we would never have discovered alone. Excellent hotel with breakfast. Very comfortable bus with wifi and electricity. I recommend it to anyone.

The guide Elvira was very good, very informative, friendly, helpful and supportive. The only thing of the tour that could be improved is the information of pick up point. We have information only about Luxor hotel, in reality there were another pick up points.

The guide Martine was very good, patient and precise. The tour is very well organized. I recommend it to everyone
