Algarve Wine Experience at a Private Estate

2. Algarve Wine Experience at a Private Estate

Vines love Portugal's southernmost region for the same reason the tourists do - it's never too hot, never too cold, and they can be sure to enjoy more than 3,000 hours of sunshine every year. Your wine experience first takes you to Lagos and on a small cultural tour of the city. Learn about this ancient place of famous seafarers and visit places like the Fish Market, the old fort, St. Anthony’s church, and more. Go off the beaten track as you walk through small hidden streets with their traditional cobblestone art. See where locals live and have your first taste of local wine as you feel the city’s vibe. After a short drive, you will arrive at a gorgeous family estate, home to one of the only fully organic wineries in the region. Here, your guide will take you on a journey of the wine, the winemaking history in the Algarve, the local grape varieties, and the estate's vision for natural wine. Then, sit at the table with a gorgeous view over the vineyards and enjoy a homemade meal and your delicious wine, plenty of it. After lunch, you will have the chance to buy some of the wine you just tasted, and then your guide will get back to the city and to where your tour started.

We have now been home from our wonderful holiday for a few days and we still think back with pleasure to the wine tasting. Maria is very friendly, enthusiastic and not only told us about wine but also gave us a nice tour in Silves. And if that wasn't enough, we now also know more about the history of Portugal. The wines were all delicious and the lunch was more than enjoyable. So don't hesitate any longer and book this unforgettable excursion!

Fantastic and empathetic guide, you felt no stress but a bit like being on a trip with a good friend. There was also time for a little extra beyond the description when João noticed something different on the trip

Maria was lovely, with a wealth of historical and viticultural knowledge! Lunch was simple Portuguese food but ver delicious! Wine pairing was fabulous.

Very nice trip with João, we had a private trip. The wines were lord and it was nice to be able to experience the process up close. Well worth booking.
