Full description
Experience real Cambodian life on the water! Mey Chrey is one of the area's least visited floating villages, which is why it is so beloved by the very few who get to experience it! Located a 45-minute drive through some of Siem Reap's most beautiful countryside, you will head to the boat dock where you will begin your journey on the water. Enjoy a 30-minute motorboat ride along the small waterways before reaching the village where you will have the chance to hop-off, and meet a local family. Life in a floating village is entirely different to living on land and this is your chance to engage with some wonderful people, using your guide as a translator. Back on board, enjoy a spectacular sunset over the water from the comfort of your motorboat before returning to land.

We were there in the dry season and therefore had a longer journey because the water for the boat trip was closer enough to the lake for the boat. The experience in the village is worth every journey. We talked to people who were allowed to watch the daily goings-on. Our guide gave us a lot of knowledge. 100% recommended

Dorn was an excellent tour guide! He took us to see a real floating village (as apposed to stationed houses in the water) that was out of tourist route. We only saw another couple of visitors. The authentic experience is very memorable. Dorn even took us to his own village and met his family of four generations. It’s a real private tour on many levels!

This was a lovely way to end our time in Siem Reap. A few obstacles on the way like diversions due to blocked roads but the tour guide and driver didn't show any stress and kept us laughing all evening. It was nice seeing how other people live. The tour guide was so funny and lovely, shame I can't remember his name. It helped that we had a lovely funny group of people that made the evening more memorable.
