Full description
Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel at 8:00 AM where you will be transferred to the Angkor Wat ticket office to purchase your Angkor Pass (at your own expense), before setting off to Angkor Wat, one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. Spend the day exploring the temples of Angkor National Park. Begin with the Angkor Wat Temple, considered as one of the seven wonders of the world. Explore the massive Angkor Wat and be captivated by its complexity, intricately carved walls, columns, and chambers. With the help of your professional guide, discover the symbolic meanings of its carvings and architecture, and gain a deeper appreciation of Khmer culture. Next, you will be driven to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. Enter through the South Gate as you walk in the middle of a causeway flanked from side to side by symbolic statues of demons and gods. The entire length of the causeway contains a total of 108 mythical creatures serving as guards to the fortified city. Then, visit the majestic Bayon Temple, one of the most popular temples within the Angkor Thom Complex. Be mesmerized by over 200 large faces carved on 54 towers, which at that time represented the 54 provinces of the Khmer Empire. Continue your exploration at the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. In the afternoon, proceed to the ethereal Ta Prohm Temple, built in AD 1186 by King Jayavarman VII and witness how the trunks of trees seem to devour the temples. After your tour of the temples, and weather permitting, you’ll have the opportunity to rise 200 meters over the site by a tethered helium balloon to admire the sun setting over the temple and jungle. This tour concludes with drop off at your hotel in the city.

Since there aren’t many tourists around, I was the only person who showed up on this “tour group”- which was fantastic! Had a guide called Mr. Phy whom showed all the best hidden spots, he was well versed in the history of Ankor Wat and took the best pictures on my phone! I had fun :D

Wasn’t what was expecting but still enjoyed

This write up needs updating... 1st needs to state shoulders/arm pits need to be covered not just need trousers. 2nd u don’t see the sun set over the temples as not there for sunset And 3rd the balloon ride is not over the temples it’s that far away u can only see the outline in the distance. So all in all this tour wasn’t what I was expecting I thought the ballon would go over the temple not be miles away and sunset would have been amazing but it’s jkay the morning at temples. I still really really enjoyed the trip though. Because the temples are so spectacular. Dinner and show was lovely, was good to sample local food and tradition also. Just update so information is correct.

Could have been better

The tour guides were extremely nice and friendly so this review is not a reflection on them. Even though we booked a group tour we got a private one which was nice. They were accommodative with the schedule etc. So no gripes about what we got into, my issue lies in the value. For 2 people I paid over $200. That covered the transportation, guided tour, 10 min balloon ride a mediocre dinner and a 45min show. The extra costa not included as disclosed are your one day temple tickets $37, lunch and beverages at dinner. There is a real setup between the lunch venue and dinner place, ie they all give kickbacks and are over charging. The tour guides know this and this is how they make that extra money, I would have preferred a more local feel and hence would have tipped the 2 gentlemen a lot more than the kickback they receive. The temples were cool to see but I could have gotten a grab taxi etc and did the whole day for about half the cost.
