Explore the World Heritage-listed temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom on a 2-day small-group tour. Marvel at the stunning Khmer Empire architecture as you visit Bayon, Bapoun, the Terrace of the Elephants, Ta Prohm, Bantaey Srey, and others.
What to Expect
Discover the majestic temples of the Angkor Wat complex on a 2-day guided tour that’s designed for a group of up to 8 persons. The tour takes in all the main highlights, including the Bayon Temple of Angkor Thom, site of the last capital of the Khmer Empire. Drive the rugged roads to Phnom Kulen holy mountain to dine by a refreshing waterfall.
At 08:00 your guide will take you to the south gate of Angkor Thom for a visit to the temples in the complex. You’ll see Bayon Temple, Bapoun, and the Elephant Terrace. Continue on to Ta Promh, built by king Jayavarman VII (1181-1218), and dedicated to his mother. Angelina Jolie’s popular movie Tomb Raider was filmed at this temple in the jungle. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch you’ll head to the magnificent Angkor Wat, built by King Suryavarman II (1113-1150), and dedicated to the God Vishnu. In the evening you’ll enjoy a buffet dinner at a city restaurant, accompanied by an apsara dance performance. Afterwards you’ll be transferred to your Siem Reap hotel.
Start out with a drive to the sacred mountain of Phnom Kulen, widely regarded as the birthplace of the Khmer Empire. Marvel at the large reclining Buddha on the hilltop and make your way through the jungle to the Phnom Kulen waterfall, where you will enjoy lunch against the backdrop of the cascades.
After lunch your tour continues on to Banteay Srey, a small and unique temple with the finest carvings of all the Angkor group. Pass by some small villages on the return trip, where you may make a brief stop to see how sugar is produced from sugar palm trees. The tour ends at your Siem Reap hotel.
