See the sights of Sibiu and explore its historical past at a variety of attractions. Discover the narrow streets and colorful buildings of 3 central squares. Marvel at arches, courtyards, mysterious passageways and rooftops mottled with wide open "eyes."
Pause at a downtown cafe if you are in need of some relaxation. Visit art galleries and museums or enjoy a quiet moment in one of the churches and historical monuments. No visit to Sibiu is complete without visiting the Council Tower or the Tower of the Evangelical Church. The view of the city, framed by the snow-capped Fagaras Mountains, is simply magnificent.
The former Cultural Capital of Europe (2007) has been called "Little Vienna" for its rich agenda of performing arts, film, music, dance and traditions. During the tour you will be shown many of the top sights, including Big Square (Piata Mare), Haller House, the Brukenthal Museum and Town Hall. Go to the Catholic Church, Council Tower and the Small Square with the "Eyes of the City."
Admire monuments such as Luxemburg House, the Pharmacy Museum, Liars` Bridge and Huet Square. See the Evangelic Church, Brukenthal High School, Stairs Passage and Orthodox Cathedral. Visit the 3 towers of the Citadel Wall. Then go to Thalia Hall, Schiller Square, and The General's Tunnel, before ending at Big Square.
Next, drive to the typical village of Sibiel to see the museum of icons painted on glass. After a walk in the village, enjoy lunch or dinner at a peasant's house. Then go to the village of Cristian, mostly inhabited by Landlers from Austria, before the return transfer to Sibiu.
