The pickup at the hotel went smoothly. In a small group we went towards Wasserstadt. There was very little going on during the week. At the weekend it is very crowded. Frankie took us through the city and told us interesting facts. He went out of his way to make our stay a pleasant one. The water city itself is definitely worth seeing and something special. The share of the stay in relation to the entire tour is rather short (approx. 2 hours), but sufficient in my eyes if you don't want to go out to eat. Zhouzhuang is 90 km from the center of Shanghai. In the usual traffic chaos there are 2 hours of travel time per route. I can definitely recommend the tour.
Jamie, our guide was awesome. She told us a lot of interesting things about Shanghai itself, the villages around it and even some cultural things. She really put much effort into the tour and her enthusiasm was lovely. Jamie made this trip extremely special for us and was at all times very helpful, friendly and professional. I really recommend to book this tour as there is nothing to regret. The village is beautiful, there is so much to see and learn and we enjoyed every minute. It was totally worth it.
the trip was value for money . notice that it is outside of the city if you plan to be close to the city. the trip with the boat is short just to take some good pictures. our guide Roy was very well educated friendly and spoke the English language pretty well .also he helped us for general info except the standard trip schedule infos such us providing us infoa for the nightlife etc..our day was a holiday day so consider that for the heavy traffic
We were really lucky because we had a private tour with our amazing guide Grace to Hangzhou. Although the weather wasn't that good Grace made our tour a great experience for us. The West Lake where we had a 45 minute boat ride was beautiful. The lunch at a local restaurant was the best we had in and around Shanghai. It is a long drive to Hangzhou but totally worth it!
Interesting. Relaxing. And a perfect guide (Peter)
