What to Expect
Your guide will pick you up in the lobby of your downtown hotel at your preferred time. Head to the first stop Xintiandi, using local public transportation. Visit the Shikumen Museum for approx 20 minutes to see what the interior was like for the 1920's middle class. Next, head to Fuxing park, which is best preserved French-style park in China. In the park, there are many locals doing different exercises and activities.
Take a 5-minute walk to the residence of Sun Yat-sen. A half hour visit in,you will get an idea of the Chinese history between the Opium Wars to 1920. The last stop of this walking tour, Tianzifang, is about 15 minutes away. It is rich in culture, containing several art galleries, photography shops, restaurants and bars. Your guide will help you with taxi or subway when the tour ends at your request.
