What to Expect
The ancient Roman City of Itálica, 9km north-west of Seville, was founded in 206 A.D. by Scipio the Great. Itálica played an important strategic role in political, military and economic matters during the height of the Roman Empire. It was built in classic orthogonal Roman design, forming wide rectangular blocks of private homes mixed together with public buildings.

Your two and a half hour tour of this magnificent complex will cover the treasures of Itálica, including beautiful mosaics, one of the largest amphitheaters of the Roman Empire (to seat up to 25,000 spectators), and part of a neighborhood constructed by Hadrian including public buildings and private homes. You will learn about the construction of the city, the lives of its inhabitants, and its role within the Roman Empire.
