What people are saying about Setenil de las Bodegas
Pick up and drop off were smooth. Our guide was a trooper - She did the tour in 4 languages which was insane. She did an incredible job, but I wish (for her sake and other tourists) that languages could be split up and not in the same tour. We could tell that she was very tired at the end, and having to listen to information in 4 languages took up too much time. If it were in one language, I think the guide could have fit in more information and it would be more interesting. It was also interesting because the information she gave in different languages was not always consistent, so there would be different facts in other languages and it was unfortunate for those who could only understand one language. The tour was split up in Ronda, which made the experience more enjoyable now that it was only two languages. Overall though, the cities were amazing and I would recommend this trip.
Meeting point really easy to locate & all explained well on our booking confirmation. We enjoyed the whole day very much! Our guide Maurizio was multilingual & was talking in 3 languages so everyone could understand the history of the places we visited. He was also very polite, cultural and knowledgeable. Happy to answer every question & with a smile on his face for the whole long day! We've learnt so much about Ronda & Setenil and you didn't know where the day has gone! Travel to Ronda was bit long but that's good as well as you can see beautiful Spain countryside from the coach. And Ronda... just stunning. When you visit Malaga, Ronda is your must go stop as well! We also had wine testing booked which we didn't know about so that was a nice surprise. Thank you very much to Julia Travel!
All in all, a good trip. Quite a long fat and I felt we spent a little too long in the Plaza de Toros which meant not a lot of time left for lunch or exploring Ronda by ourselves. I didn't really support bull fighting before and now I've been informed about many of the details I know it's incredibly cruel, so I was left feeling uncomfortable and sad for the bulls. The wine tasting was good, and you can unusually, drink as much as you want. Be sure you bring water and a snack or sandwich as it's a long time before you stop for lunch. Setinel was lovely and you do have the opportunity to buy some refreshments here but it's just a relatively quick stop and walk around but a very pretty little town and great views from the right hand side of the coach when leaving.
We got on the bus im Malaga and had to pick up people along the coast before heading for Ronda. So the first people who got on the bus had to wait over 3 hours for a coffee/toliet break. And then 40 mintes for Setenil was simply not enough, extra 30 minutes would have been nice.
Both places are quite interesting. They are not that far from Malaga. We would prefer that the guide who was with us in the bus speaks one language instead of two to three languages. One can't speak all three languages fluently and it can be very confusing for the listeners.
