Full description
Discover Las Islas Marietas (or the Marieta Islands in English), a popular stop for people visiting Riviera Nayarit for a few reasons. The islands are a breeding ground for the blue-footed booby, a funny-sounding bird with aqua blue feet. There are almost 100 different species of birds that call these little islands home, and many more varieties of marine life that live in the surrounding protected waters. First, you will stop with the national park rangers to check-in at the park. After that, go to the snorkel reef area to put your gear on and jump out of the boat with a professional guide. Discover the best of the underwater world. Then, continue on to the 2nd island (Long Island) and visit La Nopalera Beach. Here you can relax and walk into the volcanic caves on the beach. Jump on board again to take a tour around the island to go bird watching. Visit interesting locations like Cueva de la Virgen y La Piedra del Elefante. End the tour with a picture of the Stone Bridge, a crater created by the erosion of millions of years the ocean hitting the stone. Arrive back on the Punta de Mita pier.
