On this unique experience you will discover the Monte Pellegrino Nature Reserve, cycling on the main trails with our bikes. The ascent will follow along the “old road”, which is walked by devout pilgrims during the annual feast of Santa Rosalia – the patron saint of the city of Palermo. On the tour you will discover the history of the Mountain and visit the sacred cave (formerly used as the place of worship for the Phoenician goddess Tanith, which is today incorporated in the Sanctuary dedicated to Santa Rosalia). You will also visit the places where the anti-aircraft batteries of the Second World War were based – this is a beautiful panoramic spot where you can admire the Gulf of Palermo from above. We’ll then have another break, during which you can cool down and we will treat your tastebuds to some specialty street cuisine and local delicacies. At the end of the hike to the summit, you’ll head back down to the city via the scenic route, pedaling along paved roads as you take in the striking views of the city.

We begin our panoramic tour in the heart of the city to admire the Arab-Norman architecture and take advantage of the warm Sicilian sun for a walk to discover the history and traditions of Palermo, walking through the Art Center and visiting the main tourist attractions such as the very elegant Teatro Massimo, the local neighborhood markets (where it will be possible on request to make stops to taste some typical Palermo delicacies), the Historic Center with the Quattro Canti, the Cathedral of S. What people are saying about Santuario di Santa Rosalia, Palermo

Sergio is a very kind and experienced tour guide. The tour to the top of Monte Pellegrino has been very pleasant for my dad and me, packed with lots of information about the city of Palermo, its history and culture. The views from the different viewpoints of Monte Pellegrino have been amazing and Sergio made sure that we had enough breaks in between and could also chat a little bit with each other. We as well visited the grotto of Santa Rosalia, the patron of Palermo. All in all, it has been a great experience and we would highly recommend to take part in Sergio‘s bike tour.
