Host was fantastic! Really helpful. Knowledgable, and great for taking lots of photos!!
Start with pickup from your hotel and embark on a tour to see Santorini’s most picturesque locations at sunset. Firstly, stop to see the famous Blue Domes of Oia, which is an iconic image of the island. Then, make your way to the village of Firostefani, with its beautiful houses and quaint streets. Continue to Imerovigli, where you can walk down the narrow paths of the village along the coast. Hike up Skaros rock, where you will have beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding islands and the caldera. Finish up the tour at one of the most popular destinations on the island, the village of Oia. Enjoy a spectacular sunset from the castle to finish off your day, before being returned to your hotel in the evening.
Couldn’t catch the regular bus for sunset in Oia, so had to get the tour. Overall very nice experience.Although in the beginning made me nervous a lot, as the bus was late for 20 minutes for pick up. Also didn’t get why pick up couldn’t have been organized from the hotel if we anyway passed by it. Minibus took us to a point somewhere, where we joined a big-bus tour. Two photostops for some pictures and then headed to Oia. Overall the timing was just right because we were able to have a walk around just before it started to get overcrowded. Time was enough for a walk and dinner. Transfer back was organized very well, by minibus they splitted people according to the place we lived on the island, so not a long drive around the whole island, dropping off everyone. The only thing that might be better- is to move departure time from Oia 30 min later, to be able to enjoy the sunset at some viewpoints and not be late for the transfer back.
Tour through Akrotiri, a settlement on Santorini that was covered in ash in 1500 BC, on a 2-hour guided tour. During your tour, follow your guide through the city to see how it was organized. Hear about the tragic events that buried the city after a volcanic eruption, and learn why this contributed to it being well-preserved. Discover the way people lived 4,000 years ago as you stroll past private houses and public buildings and observe signs of a sophisticated infrastructure. You will also see some of the famous artwork, including pottery, furniture, and frescoes from the time, and find out about the other works stored at a nearby museum.
Georgia helped us understand exactly what we were seeing and how things went together.
Wander through the white cobblestone streets of Santorini’s capital, Fira, for a guided tour that will feature jewelry shops, donkey roads, a scenic cable car ride, and wine tasting. Begin your tour in front of Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, which sits atop a cliff and offers breathtaking views. Explore the old town with your guide, admiring the beautiful jewelry in shop windows as you stroll down Gold Street. Walk along part of Santorini’s famous donkey roads, once used by the locals to transport goods and reach other parts of the island. Take in the panoramic views during a 5-minute ride in an aerial lift from the top of the volcanic caldera down to a small picturesque port. Get an up-close look at the edge of the caldera as you make your way toward the renowned blue domed church in Firostefani. Savor the traditional wines you’ll stop to taste at the local market while discovering...
Start the day with a traditional Greek coffee after meeting with a local food guide in the square of Firostefani village (next to Fira). Be prepared to have your breath taken away by the unbelievable views. The tour starts with a walk towards the famous blue domed church of Santorini (the perfect spot for photos) followed by a sampling of local mezes in a traditional tavern. Walk on towards Fira on a footpath right on the edge of the caldera which gives more stunning sea and volcano views. Then a glass of cold local beer will be the perfect welcome to the capital of Santorini. Follow your guide through the historical alleyways and hidden paths of Fira with several stops for samplings of local treats, including an olive oil tasting and a quick bite of souvlaki - the ultimate greek street food. Great experience! Would highly recommend to anyone. Picked us up on time from agreed location in high end transportation. Tour guide was very friendly and explained the day well.. Had brought our own water but offered bottles anyway! After showing us a vineyard and how vines grow, Brought to great vineyard with lovely host who explained everything well, without killing us with detail. Very nice selection of wines for tasting with some cheese and bread. Ended up buying a couple bottles to bring back with us and they also offered shipping for a fee. Next stop was cooking class just down the road at amazing location. Again everyone so nice; our chef was very friendly and funny, mixing explanations of what he was making with his own stories and history of the food etc. Got to eat what we helped make (with more wine) and then taken up to the restaurant for lunch, which was freshly prepared versions of what we made as well as our own. Again more wine. And a dessert! Definitely worth doing!!
Absolutely amazing activity and the guide Kalliopi was fantastic. This was by far the best thing we did in Santorini; kayaking into caves, swimming, snorkelling, cliff jumping and an absolutely delicious lunch in a secluded spot. We were collected and picked up from Oia included in the price. Cannot fault the experience.
