What to Expect
Your audio guide for Santo Domingo includes an easy-to-use MP3 player that is pre-loaded with narrative descriptions of sites, special points of interest, and in-depth commentary of the museums, streets, churches, and monuments located on your walking guide map.
This 3-hour interactive tour gives you the freedom to create your own route and tour at your own pace. You can stop the guide at any time if you wish to explore the sights in depth, stop to browse the shops, or take time out to eat at a local restaurant.
Your tour also includes entrance to the Alcazar de Diego Colon Museum. Built by Diego Colon, son of Christopher Columbus, the museum houses some of the Caribbean's most impressive and important works of art from the Renaissance and late medieval European periods, in addition to fine Dutch tapestries.
Admission to the Royal Houses Museum is also included in the tour price. Built in the beginning of the 16th century, the building housing the museum was once the administrative center for all of the Spanish West Indies. Today it features a collection of colonial-era artifacts.
