Santa Fé de Antioquia: Village Tour from Medellin
- Transportation included
- Duration: 10 hours
If you are visiting Medellin, you should certainly consider a side trip to Santa Fe. It's a beautiful town in which to see what life is like outside the big city. I enjoyed the walk across the Puente de Occidente bridge where I took some amazing photos of the scenery. In the town of Santa Fe, the tour stopped for lunch at a nice restaurant where food was served buffet style. The walk around the town's main plaza was charming, and was another opportunity for photos. The tour ended at another town square where local vendors sold fruit, handcrafts, and snacks. Just a few things to note: Santa Fe can get quite hot, so dress appropriately. Also, use sunscreen. Bring an umbrella...it's good for rain or to shade yourself from the intense sun at the bridge. This tour is 100% in Spanish, so if you don't have some fluency in the language, you may want to book a tour in your language. Finally, be ready to depart Medellin by 7 am, even though the listing gives an 8 am departure time.
We had a fantastic time! It would have been impossible to do on our own. A great deal of interesting activities was covered. The tour was in Spanish but our guide facilitated us by seeking us out to translate into English. Lunch was excellent.
