Pisa: Cycling to the Sea on a Self-Guided Tour

Pisa: Cycling to the Sea on a Self-Guided Tour

Pisa is well known as a city of art, but not everyone knows that, not far from the center, it is possible to spend a day at the beach. Along the new cycle path “Trammino” you can discover the seaside of Marina di Pisa. This is a perfect tour for families and for those who want to ride safely and quietly, between the countryside, the pine forest and the sea. This route offers amazing landscapes, such as the Mouth of the Arno (Bocca d’Arno), characterized by the presence of “scales” and “retoni” (large fishing nets placed on wooden constructions similar to stilts) and the characteristic tourist harbor. Along the coast don't miss to stop to take a swim, taste good fried seafood or take an excellent ice cream.

Pisa is well known as an artistic city, but not everyone knows that it is possible to spend a day at the beach not far from the city center. This tour follows the tramway's new cycle path to the seaside resort of Marina di Pisa. A lovely route awaits you, ideal for families and those looking for a peaceful ride through the countryside, pine forest, and sea. This route offers you breathtaking scenery, such as the Arno's Mouth (Bocca d'Arno), which is known for the presence of scales and Retoni (large fishing nets placed on wooden constructions similar to stilts) and the typical tourist harbor. The Trammino cycle path continues for another 2 km in the middle of the pine forest to the old railway station of Marina di Pisa. There are many restaurants along the coast where you can taste good fried seafood and eat delicious ice cream. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit, once at the seaside, you'll be able to enjoy a well-deserved swim in to the sea and a delicious ice cream on the seafront. This is a tour where you, the sun, and the sea are the real stars!

The activity was very nice, the cycle path crossed was beautiful and very quiet. It was raining but luckily we didn't fall and in the end the weather held up! The owner of the shop was very friendly and helpful! The application was a bit fussy at first but then everything went fine. It's a shame about the work in progress at the destination which has ruined the image a bit and about the timing. To enjoy the landscape and the ride without running and effort, it takes a good 1 hour to get there. Furthermore, if you want to stop for a drink by the sea and see the church off the track, you need more time. At least in our experience ☺️ Generally great business ✨

The E bikes self guided tour was great fun for an afternoon exploring outside of Pisa centre. The staff were really helpful and finding bikes that suited wasn’t any bother to them. They explained how the self guided tour worked on the app and gave us a mini puncture kit and contact details should we need them. The cycle path was beautiful and a lovely way to see outside of Pisa centre.

Elena and her staff were so helpful and kind. My friend and I had so much fun riding around Pizza and the other points of interest. If you are able to take an e-bike, book with them. Great experience!

Excellent experience. Relaxing with a sense of adventure.

The E Bike having a bit more power while going up hill!
