With the covid-19 mandates, the exhibits that were indoors were off limits. It looked as if they were initially letting people into those areas as there were direction signs, but there were signs indicating they weren't open. Seeing there rest of the animals in their open spaces were great for my kids and in some of the areas where the space had multiple animals was fascinating. I look forward to going back and checking out the indoor exhibits and the new exhibits they were creating at a future time.

Great for families - spent three hours with a 2 year old exploring the zoo on a quiet weekday and had a blast. Bought the ticket last minute and had no problem exchanging the vouchers for tickets - we just walked right up to the window, showed the mobile voucher , and were waived on in. It’s a small zoo located near the beach, but perfect for our short visit. Capped the morning by taking him on the kids “choo choo train” that loops twice around the California section before heading home for nap.

I brought my 5 year old granddaughter to her first zoo experience. She loved the giraffes and zebras but was disappointed that the children’s zoo wasn’t open or the snake exhibit. She still enjoyed it but it would have been good for me to know that certain exhibits are limited or closed. Also, the only food was pizza. It would be wonderful to offer another option.
