Head out of San Francisco via the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, and head into the famous Muir Woods. Be amazed by the tall redwoods, enjoy time to wander, and return via the artistic enclave of Sausalito.
What to Expect
Cross the San Francisco bay via the Golden Gate Bridge for a stop at one of the most incredible natural sites in North America – the Muir Woods. An easy drive from the heart of downtown, you will cross Marin County along the scenic Highway 1 for a stop at some of these incredible old-growth trees.
The enormous coastal redwood tree can grow to nearly 380 feet (115m) tall, and are large enough to accommodate carved tunnels that fit moving cars!
On your way back, head through the quaint town of Sausalito, a picturesque residential community that is still home to some of San Fran's hippest artists. There's plenty of time to stop by and purchase some art to take home, or just enjoy the laid back and peaceful vibe in this Mediterranean-like town.
