What People Are Saying About San Francisco Bay Bridge
Had a wonderful sailing day in October with 20+ winds and sun for great views of the GG Bridge!
Everything was what I had hoped for. The cruise was lovely, there was a comfortable cabin to go to when I got cold and there were snacks. Jackets were provided for the less prepared in our group. It was delightful.
The crew were brilliant, really friendly and helpful. It is definitely worth booking.
We got our Alcatraz tickets easily at the voucher/ticket booth and we were on the first ferry ride out to the prison. Being the first ones out there was great because it wasn't crowded and it was still quiet on the island. It took us about two hours to get through the tour and catch a ferry back to the pier. We had time to grab lunch before heading to the Golden Gate Cruise. Even though it was windy, cold, and rainy we still had a great time on the boat. The 3 crew members were fun and very informative. It was an amazing view and experience.
The Alcatraz tour, especially the self-guided tour is very interesting and well done. We enjoyed it and walking around the island. Can you believe that native american men (Indians) were imprisoned for refusing to send their children away to American schools to be "Americanized"! They of course were kept away for the general population because they where not considered good enough to be with likes of Al Capone, and other killers. No wonder the island was taken over by Native American activist in 1969! The catamaran sailing excursion was fun and a real experience of being on the bay. I had every confidence in the captain even if he did seem a bit unconventional, he did a wonderful piloting the boat across the bay, under the Golden Gate bridge and back to the dock. Yes we would do it again and we recommend it!
