A History of Citizen Science highlights naturalists—both past and present—and the impact their work and observations has had on science as we know it today. Rare books, art, photographs, and historical documents from our Research Library’s 56,000-volume collection are displayed alongside plant and animal specimens and brought to life through touchable objects and multimedia experiences that allow deeper access to the works on display.

Coast to Cactus in Southern California
A new, permanent exhibition that tells the story of southern California. Take an immersive walk through the major regions of southern California, coast, inland valleys, mountains, and desert, and celebrate the abundant variety of life found in this area.

Fossil Mysteries. From dinosaurs to mastodons, travel through 75 million years and dig into the rich fossil history of southern California and Baja California.

Skulls.Take a look at 200 of the weirdest, wildest, and most fascinating animal skulls from our research collection.
