Cycle effortlessly through the exquisite neighborhoods of La Jolla where the French Riviera meets Beverly Hills. Mount Soledad, La Jolla Coves, WindanSea Beach and the most expensive real estate on the planet feature on this 2.5-hour tour itinerary.
What to Expect
This is a tour through one of the most glamorous areas in the world where the French Riviera meets Beverly Hills. You'll feel like one of the privileged residents of La Jolla, also known as 'the Jewel by the Sea”. On the powerful e-bikes you will cover a lot of ground and elevation, getting just enough of a workout on this 2.5-hour tour.
The tour begins at our La Jolla Village shop after a quick orientation on the bikes. This tour is led by a friendly guide and in small groups of no more than 7 people. You will follow the coastline south, checking out the harbor seals and gorgeous homes of historic La Jolla. You'll ride along Windansea Beach, made famous by the early Beach Boys videos, which today is a hot spot for surfers.
Next you'll follow the La Jolla Bike Path north, taking in the lovely views of the ocean as you ride. Ascending Mount Soledad is normally a tiresome affair by bike, but with your electric bike you will cruise up hill with minimal effort required in true Southern Californian style.
The ride back down the mountain is fun, freeing, and exhilarating. You will meander through quaint little neighborhoods hidden on the mountainside. At the coast, guests can encounter the atmospheric sea caves, tide pools and the playful California sea lions.
