This 4 hour excursion to Oberndorf, near Salzburg, will make this Christmas one you will never forget: for in Oberndorf stands the Silent Night Chapel, where the famous carol was first performed. According to the legend, it was here that Joseph Mohr and Franz Xaver Gruber, the lyricist and composer, found themselves faced with the problem of a broken organ. Mohr remembered the poem, Silent Night, which he had written two years previously, and Gruber wrote out a simple tune that he could play on the guitar. And that was how the famous song was born. It is traditional in Salzburg and the regions around it, upper Austria, Bavaria and Tirol, to turn out all the electric lights on Christmas Eve. The church will be lit only by candlelight. There is no more heartwarming place to take part in the Christmas festivities than the Oberndorf Chapel. O...

Nice experience on Christmas Eve, shame about the weather though and hard to see as most people have umbrellas.

It was one of the most wonderful things we have ever done - Walter was amazing - his knowledge - wow. The weather was perfect - the lunch the bus ride and of course the sleigh ride - just like something out of a fairy tale book - it was a winter wonderland at its very very best - 7 stars

Only tour I have done in my life in which I have not felt a sheep following the flock. Correct times. The English of the guide very easy to understand. Blankets are not electric, they are lifelong. The horses can rest, they look well cared for.

This was a fantastic experience, our guide Leopold was absolutely awesome and funny and made us laugh the whole day! The horse drawn sleigh ride is something you must do whilst in Salzburg. It is spectacular and beautiful. Highly recommend!

Pure magic! An absolute must do. We went to Salzburg for a white Christmas only to find out, that unlike every brochure we saw, Salzburg hasn’t had a white Christmas for 8 years. This tour absolutely made the white Christmas come true.

Amazing experience!! Beautiful scenery!! Fantastic horses (and drivers)!! Plus plenty of time to explore too!!
