Our tour was with Panorama tour group with guide (and driver) Anne Marie. She was fabulous and gave extensive history of the sites as it related to the film and other interesting historical facts. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and better weather. Since the pick up point is in the Thursday open market, it added to the experience. In the passenger van we adults all masked up. My young daughter (Age 3) was able to keep interested the whole time, only struggled the last 15 mins or so, which is remarkable after a four hour tour. I recommend bringing healthy on the go snacks and water (to be eaten outside the van) because there are not many food/water options due to the pandemic. Otherwise, we had plenty of bathroom breaks and LOADS of information. We also had a small group of 5 adults and one child. This company has been doing these tours since the movie first became popular and also received the local seal of approval from my hotel staff. Thumbs up!
My family and I visited Hohensalzburg Fortress on a rainy Friday. I booked tickets the day before with GetYourGuide. We parked our Honda Pilot in an outdoor lot on Petersbrunnhofstr. €15/24hr maximum. We walked up and around the base of the fortress, stopping by the active abbey Nonnberg. The chapel is dark and reverent. Continuing around the base of the fortress mount, we veered away from the castle to arrive at the ticket counter for the funicular railway. No issues with showing the confirmation on my mobile phone. We took the rail up the mountain and followed the signs to "A", where we got audio tour handsets for each person. My children ages 10, 8, 6, and 5 loved this portion of the tour. The audio tour options were based on age, and were very well done. This tour is highly recommended. This tour is not wheelchair accessible in my opinion.
Travel back in time with Mozart’s music. This evening was filled with a wonderful made traditional Austrian meal set in an acoustic dream room complete with period architecture and costumes. The musicians were of a high caliber and seemed to enjoy the evening as much as the audience. The wait staff went above and beyond to make sure it was as natural an experience as possible during this pandemic. Richardo and his wait staff colleagues were relentless (yet unobtrusive) to attend to everyone’s needs. I loved my wine suggestion and at the end of the evening, my sleeping three year old was carried down the stairs to the taxi that was called for us. It was a perfect evening complete with candelabra! It is a must do splurge in Salzburg.
A much anticipated tour. Luckily, there wasn't that much tourists, so we got the mini bus all to ourselves. The one and a half ride going to Hallstatt was enjoyable and informational. I had bits of information about Austria, Salzburg and the like. Saw some the picturesques view of Salzburg, over guide made us even close our eyes to surprise us with such a beautiful view.
Fantastic cultured cooking experience in a cave! We were guided through the process of making a strudel and nockerl with precision through an enjoyable and engaging format. Really impressed and the overall experience was one I’d recommend to everyone, whether you’re an expert or a newbie!
