Summer in the Salzkammergut: The Salzkammergut area has long been a dream destination for Austrian royalty. From Emperor Franz Joseph and his court in Bad Ischl to Salzburg's Prince-Bishops in Jagdschloss Fuschl. The picturesque landscapes of Salzburg, Upper Austria, and Steiermark will indeed fascinate.
Visit the "Mozart Village" of St. Gilgen, the home of Mozart's mother and enjoy a 25-minute boat tour to St. Wolfgang (Boat tours are seasonal from 01 May to 26 October).
In the town of St. Wolfgang visit the famous Gothic altar of Michael Pacher and enjoy a coffee break at a world-class restaurant, "Im Weissen Rössl."
The drive back to Salzburg leads past the Krottensee and castle Hüttenstein as well as the Mondsee, which is surrounded by spectacular mountains. All in all, an unforgettable experience.
