The highlight of this tour is a visit to a 500-year-old salt mine, where you'll first slip into original protective gear before entering. Once inside, you'll learn about exciting, informative, and legendary facts to do with this enchanting, underground world. Use the slides that miners once used to delve deeper into the mine and see what secrets it still hides. A raft trip along the mystical underground salt lake and a trip on the mine railway cap off the informative trip. Before returning to Salzburg, you'll have plenty of time to discover the Berchtesgaden area.

The driver was very knowledgeable. The salt mine was fun and interesting. The kids really enjoyed the mine slides and sampling the salt brine. However I don't feel like the excursion was worth the price. I would recommend driving up on your own and pay at the salt mines.

Der Ausflig mit einem modernen Reisebus ist absolut empfehlenswert. Der Guide Johannes hatte uns auf dem Weg nach Berchtesgaden einige interessante Informationen gegeben. Auch die Möglichkeit, nach der Besichtigung kurz durch Berchtesgaden zu laufen, empfanden wir als sehr angenehm. Das Highlight war natürlich die Besichtigung des Bergwerkes. Als Deutsche erhielten wird einen Live-Kommentar, Ausländer erhielten für diverse Sprache einen Audioguide. Die Führung begann und endete mit einer kurzen Grubenbahnfahrt. Wir durften zweimal einige Meter rutschen (bitte freundlich lächeln, denn man wird fotografiert) (man kann auch runter laufen) und legten den Weg im Salzbergwerk dann per Fuß zurück, was absolut nicht schwierig war. Nicht gefallen hat mir, dass man nicht fotografieren darf.

It was a good tour which included a short stop at Berchtesgaden for a coffee break, in addition to the Salt Mine tour which was interesting (but the English audio guide was rather minimal in terms of explanation). The guide had a good sense of humour and kept us entertained. But the price was a little steep for half a day.
