What to Expect
Among the high peaks, valleys and subtropical arid, a trip to the Northwest is a meeting with Argentina Columbian history. In a majestic natural beauty, are old colonial towns, countless festivals and local produce rustic pleasures. The northwest of Argentina is blessed with a beauty of natural landscapes, such as the Quebrada de Humahuaca and the lovely valleys of Calchaquies. The province of Jujuy is also proud of its pre-Columbian and colonial heritage which can be seen with its colorful villages.
We will visit the amazing Salinas Grandes salt desert, Tilcara & Quebrada de Humahuaca, Cafayate and explore the historic place of Salta on our city tour on our 5 days & 4 nights tour.
Day 1 - Buenos Aires / Salta: Buenos Aires & Salta: Arriving in the city Salta, we will transfer you to your hotel from the airport or bus station. We will visit Salta "La Linda": the downtown, the cathedral and many other sights of this ancient city on our Salta City Tour.
Day 2 - Cafayate: Visit the wonderful and colorful Quebrada de las Conchas and see the most remarkable Garganta del Diablo, the Amphitheatre and the castles. After lunch, we will visit the town of Cafayate. We will return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.
Day 3 - Salinas Grandes: Salinas Grandes & Hill of seven colors: We will visit the Salinas Grandes during the morning, a stunning sea salt formed millions of years ago. From this point, we will go to Purmamarca, and after lunch, walk through the Cuesta de Lipan where appreciate the fabulous Hill of 7 colors. We will return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.
Day 4 - Tilcara & Quebrada de Humahuaca: During the morning, we will go Tilcara, visit the Garganta del diablo, a deep incision made by the water in the rock, located in the upper river channel Huasamayo from where you will have a splendid view of the Quebrada de Humahuaca. After lunch we will visit the ruins of Pucara, and ancient village. We will return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 5 - Salta / Buenos Aires: Transfer to the airport or bus station for your journey back to Buenos Aires or for your onward travels.
