Full description
Embark on an off the beaten path private tour of Brittany. Discover the historic Saint-Malo, wander through the small medieval town of Dinan, stop at Cancale for tasty seafood, and explore the medieval fortress at Fort la Latte, set on a rock facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Start your guided journey in Saint-Malo. Visit the battlements and the old city where you will learn about the story of the privateers R. Duguay-Trouin and R. Surcouf. Next, go see the forts and hear the story of the Corsaire, the famous pirates which caused so much trouble to the English merchant ships.
Continue to Cancale, the French capital for fresh oysters, for a delicious seafood lunch. Afterward, drive to the lovely medieval city of Dinan. Founded by the Lords of Dinan in 1040 and nestled by the Rance River, Dinan was one of the most important market towns of France until the 17th Century.
Lastly, travel to the Cap Fréhel to visit Fort la Latte. Admire the medieval fortress facing the ocean, which protected St Malo for centuries. Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis fought on top of this castle for the 1958 movie " Vikings".
