Meet your expert guide at the meeting point next to Berlin Central Station and depart on a 45-minute train ride to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Once you get to the Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen, explore the most significant places inside. See the front gate with its inscription “Arbeit macht frei,” the watchtowers, Barrack 38, the nursing rooms, the punishments cells, Station Z, and the execution places. Then, come across the Liberation Memorial, in memory of the Sachsenhausen Holocaust victims, and the obelisk in memory of the liberation of the camp, raised by the Soviet Union in 1961. Inside the Sachsenhausen Museum, on the basis of respect, dig deeper into this historic place of political and racist terror from the 20th century.
