We enjoyed our tour and everything about the booking was very good. That said, we had not nearly enough time to do both the gardens and the Palace. Also, had we known about it, we would have immediately headed to the line to rent an electric golf cart. They are in very limited supply and this would have been the way to see all the gardens although hardly enough time to stop and enjoy all of the gardens in detail. The Palace was doable in three to four hours and we enjoyed that although it is a shame that it is so dark in many of the rooms. The paintings are dark as well and the room lighting is bad to horrible. Sometimes the only light comes from large windows which put so much glare on the paintings they are impossible to see. But overall, it is a tour not to be missed. The audio guides provide excellent information and to us were mandatory. Our host was very accommodating and made sure everything ran like clockwork.

What people are saying about Royal Opera House, Palace of Versailles

Bus transfer very convenient, on time. However, we were NOT told there would be additional stops to pick up clients at different hotels. Where was this option? On return, with only 3 of us left, would not stop at our hotel which we directly passed. Not accommodating. Also, I prefer tour guides who provide information about the event/site we are seeing. We basically had a chaperone for pick up and drop off. No discussion provided on palace history/facts. Booking said we would see palace, then gardens. It was reversed. Had to find our own maps (nothing provided by the guide here). No suggestions on what to expect from the paths, how often watershows run, how quickly/slowly to walk thru the palace (we went too fast, and they docents will not allow you to double back, but we did and found another set of rooms we missed. Do your research. Bring a sandwhich, snacks and eat in the garden. No info on this was provided on this either (or accurately).

Our tour guide was incredible! Great knowledge, spoke several languages AND stood in line so we didn't have to. Due to Covid 19 non ticket holders and tour groups have to stand in the same line (for hours!) Our guide stood in line for us while we visited the Gardens and were very detailed and prompt with meeting times and locations. Would highly recommend this tour. Enjoy!

Everything was wonderful. The bus ride was a breeze, entrance was easy and quick. The palace and the gardens were amazing.

Order in the entrance. Calm and well organized people. Beautiful place. I must come back to enjoy it more.
