  • Discover the city’s talking statues and its stunning fountains
  • Visit churches such as Sant’Andrea della Valle and San Marco Evangelista
Explore central Rome on a private walk with an expert guide. Stop at important landmarks of the an-cient and the modern city, from Piazza Navona to Piazza del Popolo. Learn about the famous talking statues, dating back as early as the 16th century.
What to Expect
This 3-hour private walking tour begins in Piazza Navona, where your expert guide will tell you about the curiosities hidden behind the Baroque 4 Rivers Fountain. You’ll learn about the square during early Roman times and how its face has changed from that era to the present day.

You’ll walk along the typical narrow alleyways of central Rome to the city’s most famous talking statue, Pasquino, before continuing on to discover the others.

In Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, your guide will show you the curious fountain called Terrina, or soup bowl, before heading to the Sant’Andrea della Valle Church. On the left side of the church you’ll find the second talking statue of this tour, the Abbot Luigi. You’ll hear about the mysterious disappearance of the statue’s head.

After a stop to see the archeological site of Largo Argentina and its temples, next on the agenda is the so-called Madama Lucrezia. Is she a real woman or a goddess? See the pine cone fountain that gives the name to this Roman neighborhood.

Cross the monumental Piazza Venezia and walk along Via del Corso, the famous shopping street, where you’ll find the Porter’s fountain, perhaps the work of Michelangelo Buonarroti.

See Propaganda Fide Palace and hear the legend about the debated and controversial relationship between the 2 great exponents of the Roman Baroque: Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini.

Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a walk through Piazza di Spagna to Via Margutta, known in the past for its numerous artist workshops. Have a look here at the Baboon’s Fountain, the tour’s final talking statue.

Your tour ends in Piazza del Popolo.
