Sample the local foods and craft beers of Rome on a 4-hour food tour of the Trastevere district. Cross the River Tiber to the local neighborhoods of Ponte and Parione, visit local bars and bistros, taste artisanal pizzas, and much more.
What to Expect
Taste the craft beers and local foods of Rome on an innovative half-day food tour, and learn more about Italy's growing craft beer industry. For a long time, pubs in Rome were British or Irish in style, serving industrial brand draft beers from the UK or Ireland. Then the first craft beers were born and pubs turned into real places to eat gourmet food and drink better beer.
You will visit 4 local pubs loved by modern day Romans, and taste Italian craft beer as you explore the maze of streets of the Trastevere district. Pass old churches, hidden squares, and historic buildings, and learn about the many curiosities and legends that surround this famous neighborhood.
After the first 2 beers, cross the River Tiber, passing through the former Jewish district, one of the oldest Jewish Ghettos in Europe. Continue into the historic districts of Ponte and Parione where the maze of crooked streets are full of sunbaked piazzas and boys on Vespas. Continue towards the Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona.
Along the way, stop to eat a slice of artisanal pizza, baked in a traditional wood oven and served in a fantastic restaurant that serves 36 different draft beers. Enjoy a snack in one of Rome's best loved breweries, and end with more snacks at a distinctive Italian beer in a bistro behind Piazza Navona.
