This excursion into the Vatican’s legendary art and architecture starts at the Vatican Museums, which house the most important ancient art collection in the world. Continue to the Sistine Chapel to admire masterpieces by Michelangelo, Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Pinturicchio, and Perugino. Then you’ll ascend Bernini’s Royal Staircase to St. Peter’s Basilica, rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries.
