Visit Vatican City and receive the blessing of Pope Francis at a public papal audience, after a short panoramic tour of Rome. Enjoy lunch at a typical Roman restaurant and then visit the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, and the Palatine Hill.
What to Expect
On this special 8-hour program you’ll attend a papal audience in St. Peter's Square or Nervi Hall. See Pope Francis and listen as he welcomes pilgrims, imparts blessings, and leads the prayers.
You’ll be picked up at your central Rome hotel early in the morning and transferred to Vatican City.
This unique experience includes a short panoramic tour of Via Nazionale, Piazza Venezia, Corso Vittorio, Corso Rinascimento, and the Lungotevere, with a drop off at Piazza dei Tribunali. To reach St. Peter’s Square, your group will walk past Castel Sant’Angelo and along Via della Conciliazione.
You’ll check in at the Square with your guaranteed ticket, and the professional guide will recommend the best place for viewing the ceremony.
After the event you’ll be taken to a typical Roman restaurant nearby to enjoy a meal before continuing your tour at the Coliseum. Enjoy priority access at the ancient amphitheater with your skip-the-line ticket.
Discover the true heart of the Roman Empire. Go back in time and pause to admire the genius that took the Coliseum from concept to reality in 70-80 AD. Once the most famous meeting place in the world, the Coliseum is estimated to have once held 50,000-80,000 spectators.
When inside, re-live the glorious if sometimes bloody past of the amphitheater, which served different purposes over the course of history.
Outside the Coliseum, you’ll see the Arch of Constantine. Continuing your walking tour to the excavated ruins of the Roman Forum archaeological site, where many walls and columns remain intact to this day. Explore the breathtaking Palatine Hill, finishing your tour with a deeper connection to the history of Rome.
After the guided tour you’re free to explore the area on your own or return to your hotel.
