Full description

Travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private coach, accompanied all the way by your expert tour coordinator. Benefit from skip-the-line entry and enjoy a self-guided visit around the ancient city. Throughout the ruins, you’ll come across death casts: plaster recreations of unfortunate citizens preserved by the superheated volcanic ash. After visiting Pompeii, the coach will take you up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius (from April to mid-November), one of Europe’s few active volcanoes located in the Vesuvius National Park. From here, take a short hike up to the steaming crater for stunning views of Capri and Sorrento. During the winter season between November and March, Mt. Vesuvius is closed, so your tour will follow the coastline and take you to the city of Naples, where you can explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply wander around the monumental Plebiscito Square.

This was, generally, a very good tour. The guide was knowledgeable and we had enough time to visit the sights. A map was provided at Pompeii that highlighted the operator's recommendations. This map could have been more information had it used the actual site map to identity these features. Unfortunately, we had rain the day of the tour. There was an issue with the bus and we had water leaking inside the bus.

Our tour guide Roberto was excellent, the tour was good. From the moment you get to the ruins your mind is just blown away, there is so much to see but then your time is up and you have to go. The hike at Vesuvius was very informative and a moderate climb. Overall it was a good tour just need more then two hours in Pompeii.

The trip was fantastic, really well organised with clear information throughout the day. Our guide Roberto ensured our needs were met throughout the day. He brought pompei and mt versuvius to life for us. The info he provided really made a great day even greater, and helped us to fully appreciate and experience our destination fully. We are also grateful to Julio who is clearly a highly skilled driver and seemed to navigate the mountain road with ease and the journey on the coach felt safe and comfortable.
