- Visit the Vatican Museums in the evening, after they’ve been closed to the general public
- Admire major works of art, including the Michelangelo frescoes in the Sistine Chapel
- Enjoy a buffet dinner in the lovely surroundings of the Pinecone Courtyard
On this exclusive 3.5-hour program, you’ll be escorted past the gathering lines and straight into the Vatican Museums an hour ahead of the general public. You’ll also enjoy a delicious buffet dinner of local dishes accompanied by wine in the beautiful surrounding of the Pinecone Courtyard.
After dinner, it will be time to savor the centuries-old artworks your expert, English-speaking guide will bring to life with rich and informative commentary. It would take months (if not years) to see all the art in the 9 miles of hallowed halls, so the tour is tailored to the best the Museums have to offer.
Follow your guide through endless corridors, filled with ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, as you’re entertained and educated about life in ancient Rome and the men who commissioned these works.
Explore the Gallery of Maps and discover how much our understanding of the world has changed. Marvel at the stunning handmade needlepoint masterpieces housed in the Gallery of the Tapestries.
Visit Raphael’s 4 frescoed rooms, a highlight of the night tour. See how this game-changing painter honored the masters of his time, painting Michelangelo and da Vinci into his famous School of Athens.
You’ll be introduced to the Vatican’s brightest star, the Sistine Chapel. Your guide will provide some tips in advance so you know where to spot Michelangelo’s self-portrait, and the portraits of his enemies among the heathens.
With small groups of 20 people or less and audio headsets for every participant, your Vatican Night Tour will be intimate and your guide easy to understand.
