The walking tour reveals some of the best-preserved evidence of the funeral rites of the first Christians in Rome, starting with the Catacomb of Priscilla, where the tunnels extend for 13 kilometers (8 miles).
Situated in a former quarry of the Roman Republic, the site was used for Christian burials from the late 2nd century until the 4th century. See some of the walls and ceilings with fine decorations of biblical scenes. Continue to the Catacombs of St. Agnes, linked to the martyrdom of the young virgin Saint Agnes, killed in one of the anti-Christian persecutions of the 3rd century AD.
