I had one spare day and wasn't really familiar with things to do. I wanted something challenging and not too touristy. This tour turned out to be one of the most unusual and breathtaking experiences I've ever had. I strongly recommend it if you love to spend time in untouched nature. You get to see a lot of wildlife, well hidden creatures and you learn so much about the caves. My guides Karina and Rodolfo are so passionate and knowledgable about the whole area which was impressive. Be prepared to spend hours doing moderate exercise and that you have no tendency of being claustrophobic as you go quite deep inside the caves. It would be great in future if you could provide the taken pictures for less money or at least offer more affordable packages so that people can take their memories of the amazing day home. Important to say that pictures can only partly capture what you get to see for real and experience in the caves.
The tour itself is very interesting, the guides are very knowledgeable and give you a detailed explanation on the caverns and their formations. The only catch is that the tour that I booked included transportation from and to my hotel, which was within the Riviera Maya, but that didn't happen; we had to walk to the highway a few blocks away at 7am to the pick-up location chosen by RioSecreto.
Everything from pick up to drop off was great. The pick up driver Roberto was funny and did a excellent job of informing us during the ride. Gustavo the guide was amazing. Such a positive spirited person. Was also able to speak a little german. The cave itself was breath taking. Such a wonderful experience. The lunch afterwards also had a nice selection. I can totally recommend this trip.
Shuttle driver Alejandro was friendly, courteous, and provided great ride details and pointed out spots of interest. Video playing in van was informative and interesting. Guide was Jesus who was friendly, charming, knowledgeable, and showed great concern for the participants. Xtabentún drink was wonderful and unique! Lunch was delicious with great variety of options. A must do activity!
Can see why Trip Adviser rates this excursion so highly! The water was crystal clear, great break for the heat outside. Our guide Katia was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The toast at the end was unexpected and delicious, and the buffet was a wonderful way to end the day. Bring pesos to tip the van drivers out and back from the caves.
