What to Expect
Visit all the gorgeous sites of Pico da Tijuca on this fun and scenic hiking day tour. Pico da Tijuca is Rio's highest mountain, reaching 3,353 feet (1,022 meters) high. Before this moderate-level hike, travel with your guide to the entrance of the national park to visit the grand Taunay Waterfall.
The hiking trail starts at the idyllic Bom Retiro, and the full hike will take no more than 1.5 hours. On your hike, enjoy amazing views of Tijuca Forrest's famous landmarks, including the Maracanã and Engenhão stadiums, Guanabara Bay, and much more. On the way back, visit the Tijuca-Mirim peak which features another breathtaking view of the city.
