From Rhodes City: Boat Day Trip to Lindos

1. From Rhodes City: Boat Day Trip to Lindos

On this tour, you will visit the stunningly beautiful village of Lindos by boat. On the way back, the boat will make stops at Anthony Quinn's Bay for photos and both Tsambika's and Lindos's emerald bays so you can relax and go for a swim. The boat departs at 8:50 AM from Mandraki port and returns at approximately 5:30 PM. Lindos is a magnificent acropolis on an imposing rock. On the top of the rock stands a centuries-old acropolis, proudly overlooking the archipelagos. The acropolis bears silent witness to Lindos’ glorious past, a major naval power of ancient times which reputedly had a population of 17,000. The view of Lindos village, with its cubic houses sprawling down the hillside under the acropolis, is one of the most photographed scenes in Greece. The whitewashed labyrinth of little alleyways was deliberately designed to confuse pirates, today this layout makes wandering around the town a real adventure. According to tradition the temple of Athena was founded by Danaus, who came to the island with his 50 daughters to escape the rage of the goddess Hera. Follow the same ancient path that the ancient Rhodians took. When you reach the acropolis you will see a 280 BC relief of a ancient Greek warship carved into the rock, an indication of the naval power of ancient Rhodes.

What people are saying about Rhodes

Great sea trip !! Initially our wish was to visit Lindos for 3 hours scheduled on site, arrived around 11:10 am we went straight up to visit the acropolis. Hey there whoa! A queue that took us back down to the village, we got scared! But at the end of the day, it takes a 30min queue to enter the site of the magnificent acropolis! A breathtaking and unique view. After our visit we are going to have a bite to eat at Mario's typical small restaurant, nice and simple. Quick visit of Lindos then the boat leaves at 2 p.m., 3 a.m. a bit tight anyway. The return is great with these two swimming stops of 30 minutes each on two incredible spots. Everyone in the water with loaned foam fries and a mask for those who had planned. We had a superb day, even di the outward journey is quite long 2 hours.

I am paralysed t5/6 complete and 48, holidaying with my wife and another couple. The staff were excellent and the boat trip good. I could not get to the village but stopped on the beach below, the hill is massive and was too much. I’m 13 stone. The boat trip was good and you get access to the back deck so there’s enough to sit out in, catch the sun and watch the swimming. Pity about not seeing the village as was told it’s stunning. If you go by road you’ll get to see Lindos. If you’re not in my position and can get up to the village it’s a 10, not their fault but a 7 from me but that’s no reflection on the staff.

+1 hour free time in Lindos would be very useful, but the whole trip was perfect. Congratulations to the crew.

It was Great:) I would appreciate more hours in Lindos
